Every once and a while a really unique job comes along out of left field. That was the case when I received a phone call to install some slate tile showers in a private lodge outside of town. Once I arrived on site, I started to realize what I had really gotten myself into! Lol. I purchased a tile book at Home Depot that explained some of the required steps for installing a “shower pan membrane liner” (or in human terms; a waterproof rubber liner for the floor) and benefited greatly from some advice given to me by an experienced tile guy that ran the flooring department at Home Depot. Not counting the impressive taxidermy collection that decorated the lodge’s interior, each commute seemed to introduce me to another animal that was out on a daily stroll. It was a great learning experience for me and was also probably the coolest “job site” I had ever been on.
