Shortly after creating the movie Adult Daycare, I moved in to an apartment in downtown Tulsa. To say that it was “a bit run down” would have been an understatement; however the quirkiness of the apartment was part of the appeal for me. The only real set back was that it didn’t have a shower. Instead there was an open space with exposed 2×4 walls and a drainpipe. Fortunately, this was a dilemma I could do something about. After making a deal with the landlord to do some remodeling work in exchange for rent, I got to work. I really enjoyed building this shower and ended up staying in the apartment for over 6 years, which also ended up being the shoot location for the Thinkpierce film, The Turtleneck Club. Before moving out, I created a video showcasing the apartment in all its downtown Tulsa glory as a way to always look back at my years on the corner of 16th & Cheyenne.
